On 15th July we spent a lovely evening with The High Sheriff of Cumbria and Cumbria Community Foundation (CCF) . We talked about the work of AERG during flooding and the pandemic response and gave a guided tour of the town to show the Sheriff the areas which are impacted by flooding. We are extremely grateful to be recognised by him for our work and also to CCF for the vital funding we have received over the years, without which we would not be able to continue running.
The High Sheriff commented as follows:
Lovely to meet some of the team at Appleby Emergency Response Group. Founded to help deal with floods but also helping during COVID. A dedicated group of volunteers caring for the Appleby community. Prepare, Respond, Recover. Well done and thank you to you all
